Mark Williams, President

Mark Williams joined the MCDC as President in 2015. Mark has a long and accomplished career in finance going back to his first position as a Bank Teller in 1982. Over the years, Mark has developed his skills in credit and financial analysis, loan review, portfolio management and sales at various institutions including Bank and non-Bank lenders. It was during this time, in 1999, when Mark completed his first SBA 504 loan working with the MCDC.
Mark’s diverse background includes stints as an entrepreneur having owned multiple businesses which further developed his management capabilities and leadership skills. Most recently, Mark served as the SBA Senior Business Development Officer for PNC Bank throughout the greater Michigan market; he partnered with the Business and Commercial Bankers providing 504, 7(a) and Express loans to create economic opportunity to small businesses in Michigan.
Mark earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Financial Administration from the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University.

Eric Kehler is a Senior Loan Officer for the MCDC. Eric markets the SBA 504 program throughout the state of Michigan and works with lenders, small business owners, and other referral sources to secure SBA 504 financing. He works with the MCDC underwriters to review the eligibility and obtain the SBA approval.
Before joining the MCDC staff in 2004, Eric was the Administrator/Business Manager for 7 years for a church in Lansing, Michigan. Prior to that, he worked for Ford Motor Credit Corporation for 7 years as a Loan Officer, Dealer Sales Representative, and the Customer Service Supervisor.
Eric earned his Bachelors degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

Mike Ufford is a Senior Loan Officer for the MCDC. Mike markets the SBA 504 program throughout the state of Michigan and works with lenders, small business owners, and other referral sources to secure SBA 504 financing. He works with the MCDC underwriters to review the eligibility and obtain the SBA approval.
Prior to joining the MCDC, Mike spent the last 22 years working in the commercial loan arena in Southeastern Michigan, holding commercial lending, credit administration, and commercial loan management positions, in both large regional banks and small community banks.
Mike earned his Bachelors degree in Bank Management from Wayne State University and his Master of Finance degree from Walsh College.
Scott Vroegindewey, Senior Loan Officer

Scott Vroegindewey is a Senior Loan Officer for the MCDC. Scott markets the SBA 504 program throughout Greater Grand Rapids Michigan and works with lenders, small business owners, and other referral sources to secure SBA 504 financing. He works with the MCDC underwriters to review the eligibility and obtain the SBA approval. Scott joins MCDC with a solid career in the banking industry, with extensive experience in commercial loan portfolio management and SBA lending programs specific to Michigan. Most recently he served as a Commercial Loan Officer at Macatawa Bank in the Ottawa, Kent, and Northern Allegan markets.
Scott Vroegindewey graduated from the Seidman School of Business at Grand Valley State University with an MBA degree, and prior to that he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Hope College.

Darlene J. Merritt joined MCDC in November of 2006. She is responsible for marketing our SBA 504 Loan Program to our lending partners, CPAs, and other referral sources in the northern counties of the Lower Peninsula and the Upper Peninsula. She works with the MCDC underwriters to review eligibility, structure and obtain the SBA approval. Before joining our staff she held several banking positions including Community Bank President with Fifth Third Bank in Cadillac. She is currently active in economic development thru the Cadillac Industrial Fund and a member of the Cadillac Chamber of Commerce. She also has held leadership positions with Cadillac Housing Commission, Wexford County Habitat for Humanity, United Way of Wexford County and the Downtown Development Authority.
Darlene attended Mid-Michigan College in Harrison and is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - School of Bank Administration.
Steven Pricco, Director of 7(a) Lending (SBA)

Steve Pricco joined the MCDC as Director of SBA 7(a) Lending in August of 2017. For over 20 years Steve has worked with the SBA 7(a) Program and was twice awarded Michigan’s PLP Lender of the Year. Over the last 12 years, Steve has served as a SBA 7(a) Lender Service Provider (LSP) for banks nationwide, where he and his team work with approving, closing, 1502 reporting, selling, servicing, and liquidating the SBA 7(a) loans. Steve also works with the USDA Business and Industry loan guaranty program where he was awarded top Michigan Lender of the Year four times during his career.
Steve earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a minor in Finance from Michigan State University.
David Kramer, Vice President - Operations

David Kramer serves as Vice President - Operations for the MCDC. Dave has been with the organization since 1998. During that time, he has served in a variety of capacities within the organization including Portfolio Manager, Senior Loan Officer and Senior Underwriter. In his current role as VP - Operations, Dave manages the Underwriting, Closing and Servicing departments along with other administrative duties including IT and Accounting.
David has a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting from Central Michigan University.

Marnie Spitzley is an Underwriter for the MCDC. Marnie joined the MCDC staff during the summer of 2011. She interned with the company before becoming a full-time employee. Marnie’s responsibilities include financial analysis of loan applicants, eligibility determination, loan packaging, and approval. She is also the Government Relations Specialist for the MCDC Loan Programs.
Marnie graduated from Aquinas College in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Sustainable Business and a minor in Accounting.

Trisha Shaheen is the Executive Assistant and Human Resources Specialist for the Michigan Certified Development Corporation; she joined the MCDC staff in October 2013. As Executive Assistant, Trisha provides support for the MCDC Board of Directors, President and Staff; she also provides HR and Marketing support to MCDC.
Prior to her role with the MCDC, Trisha’s diverse career consisted of non-profit work, accounting and marketing as well as teaching preschool and special education. As a team member of the MCDC, Trisha supports the mission of vitality, community growth and economic development throughout state of Michigan.
Trisha holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and Marketing from Michigan State University, a Master’s Degree in Education from Eastern Michigan University as well as a Human Resources Certification from MSU.

Mr. Calvaruso has been the Executive Director of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation since 2008 and is responsible for the overall operations and management of the foundation. Ms. Gagliardi has over 35 years of legal expertise. As the Senior Assistant Attorney General, Deb has first hand experience with Michigan laws and economic development proposals in Michigan.
